The Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation is a not for profit organisation based in Fremantle, Western Australia. It operates Australia's largest ocean going tall ship, Leeuwin II, a 3 masted barquentine, purpose built to provide a platform for sail training and personal development youth programs in WA.
The Leeuwin's mission is to "challenge and inspire education and development of our youth and wider community."

Tall Ship Master, R. Tucker Thompson
The Northland based schooner R. Tucker Thompson is seeking a new Master to join their crew. This vessel is owned and operated by a not-for-profit Trust with a mission of Learning for Life through the Sea. The schooner is used in a variety of programmes, all of which are designed to enrich the experience of those who come aboard. For 5 months of the year between November and April, the R. Tucker Thompson operates a tourism operation in the Bay of Islands New Zealand. For 7 months over autumn and spring the ship operates 7-day Youth Sail Training voyages, developing confidence, leadership and teamwork skills for the youngsters that come on board. Maintenance is during July/August.
Tourism funds the youth development programme so our ideal candidate will not only be an experienced tall ship sailor, they will also have some experience in the Bay of Islands or a similar environment. In addition, the successful candidate will also need a proven track record of working with youth, some of which are considered to be at risk, in programmes similar to the ones run by the Trust. Some experience and understanding of indigenous cultures would be an extremely useful as we have a mixture of Māori and Pakeha (NZ European) youngsters that sail with us.
Essential requirements:
NZ Masters ticket minimum CLM/ILM (or equalivant suitable to transfer)
Coastal sea time including passage planning
Tall ship sailing experience, preferably a schooner
Experience of tourism industry and working with paying guests
Proven track record working with youth including youth at risk
Crew management experience
Ability to run a week or longer youth programme in a hands on manner with the crew
Basic marine mechanical and vessel maintenance knowledge
Knowledge of traditional Marlin spike methods

Tall Ship 'One & All'
With the retirement of the 'One & All' chief engineer, we are seeking applications from enthusiastic and appropriately qualified people to fill the position of Engineer(s) aboard South Australia’s iconic tall ship the 'One & All’.
The position is a “job share” arrangement providing the opportunity for rostered time off i.e. we are seeking to establish a pool of qualified engineers. The position reports to the ship’s captain. The remuneration is based on days worked, at sea or on shore, at an agreed daily rate.
The Engineers are important members of the ship’s management group working closely with the Captain to ensure the maintenance and safety of the ship meets Australian Maritime Safety Authority standards.
The 'One & All' is primarily a Youth Development Training Vessel taking young people (aged 15-23) to sea on extended voyages to participate in the internationally recognised 'One & All' Youth Development Program. The ship also undertakes public day and twilight sails, and adult adventure voyages. The engineer position includes overall responsibility for monitoring the ship’s asset management plan and maintaining excellent computer based records; arranging the engineers’ roster, and overseeing the annual maintenance in July.

AUSTA are looking for a keen well organised individual to step into the role of Honorary Secretary for AUSTA. This is a rewarding volunteer position that puts you in the heart of sail training in Australia.

This positions would include
1. Coordinate the collection, registration and action of incoming and outcoming AUSTA Correspondance.
2. Coordinate and manage the quarterly AUSTA Committee Meeting and twice-yearly Operator Meetings. This includes venue, logistics, preparation and distribution of agenda and papers and minutes
3. Coordinate thrice-yearly AUSTA newsletter including collection and preparation of articles, coordination of layout, production and distribution.
4. Maintain AUSTA Records
5. Coordinate content, maintenance and upkeep of AUSTA webpage.
6. Coordinate distribution to and from AUSTA members and operators.
7. Provide support to the AUSTA Committee

Sail Training International is the world’s only organiser of international races for Tall Ships as well as a range of other activities to promote and develop sail training. These include conferences, seminars, publications, research and lobbying of international regulatory and other organisations. We are a charity and work closely with our member national organisations around the world, Tall Ship operators and host ports to help young people benefit from the sail training experience.
To meet the growing demands of our rapidly expanding activities, we wish to appoint a second Commercial Director, reporting to the Chief Executive.
The new Commercial Director will work with our office and event management teams, sponsors, host ports and Tall Ship operators to achieve our commercial goals with a high level of professionalism and flair.
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience with international business and commercial activities, good inter-personal and presentation skills, and an empathy with our organisation’s purpose. Experience with the management of events, media relations and websites is also highly relevant. Flexibility to travel is a requirement.
Fluency in spoken and written English is a pre-requisite; and applicants with fluency in at least one other language (eg French and/or Spanish) will have a particular advantage.
