Sydney Auckland Tall Ships Regatta

The 2013 Sydney Auckland Tall Ships Regatta is the first international tall ship race to be held in the Southern Hemisphere. This is a unique opportunity for individuals of all ages to take part in a world class event.

All sixteen Tall Ships visiting Australia for the International Fleet Review will embark crew and leave Darling Harbour late morning, mustering on the Harbour from 1:00pm. See the seven official race entrants here!

Keen to join the crew? A small number of crew berths remain available, and non-participating ships are also offering opportunities to sail with the fleet to the start line.

The Official Regatta Start will take place at 2:00pm, when the seven participating Tall Ships will sail through Sydney Heads and into the Tasman Sea. The Tall Ships entering the event are:

As well as being in great locations, the welcome and support the Tall Ships can expect in these two ports will be second to none. Competing ships will depart from Sydney, Australia and race across the Tasman Sea to Opua, in the spectacular Bay of Islands, before sailing down the New Zealand coast to Auckland.

Home to six of the vessels participating in the Sydney Tall Ship Festival, Sydney is well equipped for an international celebration of sailing and sail training. Close to twenty vessels will sail into Sydney Harbour on Thursday 3 October 2013 and berth at Darling Harbour, Cockle Bay, Barangaroo and the Australian National Maritime Museum.

Auckland, New Zealand

Welcome to Auckland - a port city close to beautiful beaches, hiking trails and a dozen enchanted holiday islands.

On 25 October 2013 the Tall Ship Fleet, led by Spirit of New Zealand will sail into Auckland Harbour for a three day festival including street parades, bands, ship tours and a Royal New Zelaand Navy salute!. Join the flotilla on the water or watch from around the Waitemata Harbour these beautiful boats are guided to Queens and Princes Wharves

Join the Regatta

People of all abilities can take part in the Regatta, including those with mental and physical disabilities, providing they are over the age of 15. No experience is required, and a limited number of berths remain available on the seven confirmed Tall Ships participating in the event.

Vessels interested in taking part need to submit an entry form to Sail Training International by 1 September 2013.
 

Sponsorship Opportunities

The Regatta presents many high profile sponsorship opportunities for brands and a variety of packages are available, which can be tailored to suit. Options include naming rights, branding and media opportunities.

A full corporate program will be available in Sydney and Auckland. Opportunities include VIP sailing days and events, and corporate hospitality aboard the vessels.
